Infrared is heat you feel rather than see. Instead of heating the air around you like a traditional sauna, it warms your body directly, so the cabin runs at a gentler temperature and you still get a deep, even sweat.

It comes in three bands: near, mid and far. Far infrared is the deep, radiant warmth most people picture when they think of an infrared sauna. Near and mid infrared are shorter wavelengths that add warmth closer to the surface.

A far-infrared-only sauna gives you that core heat and stops there. A full-spectrum sauna, like the Reset Origin, covers all three bands in the same session.

Because you should only have to buy once.

Far-infrared-only cabins are simpler and often cheaper. But budget units tend to cut corners on the things that decide whether you'll keep using it: EMF levels, timber, heater quality, and who answers the phone when something breaks.

The Reset Origin is built to be used four to seven times a week:

Solid Canadian Hemlock. There's no particle board, MDF or filler timber in the structure. Hemlock stays stable in heat, has a low natural odour and holds up to regular sessions.

We use as little glue as the build needs, and where we do use it, it's non-toxic.

The Origin is designed in Australia and built by our manufacturing partner in Shanghai, China. We specify the timber, heaters and electrical components, and the changes that go into each production run.

Sales, support, spare parts and installation are handled by our own team in Queensland, not an offshore ticket queue.

The Origin is built for daily use. The cabin is designed to last 8 to 10 years of regular sessions.

After the warranty ends, we'll still help, and supply parts and repairs at cost price.

A standard 10-amp, 220–240V power point. There's no three-phase power and no electrician needed for a normal indoor install.

It draws about 2kW, so it costs roughly 60–70 cents an hour to run at typical Queensland electricity rates (around 30–35 cents per kWh).

Yes. The power cable comes out of the roof and is fixed at 2.5 metres, so measure from where you want the sauna to your power point before we arrive.

For safety, don't use an extension lead or power board. If the power point is in the wrong spot, choose a different position or have a licensed electrician add a new one.

Once it's installed, the Origin can sit right against your walls, with no side clearance needed. Leave a few centimetres above the roof for ventilation.

To assemble it safely, we need about 30cm of space around its footprint. If your room is tighter than that, we'll build it in a nearby open space and slide it into position.

No. The Origin is an indoor sauna, built for a spare room, garage or fully weather-protected space.

Don't install it anywhere it's exposed to sun or rain. Queensland weather will damage the timber, and water damage on an indoor cabin isn't covered by the warranty.

Our first shipment lands in October, and pre-orders are open now. Once you've ordered, we'll contact you to confirm a dated delivery and install window.

Delivery and installation are included free within about 80km of Brisbane CBD, and across the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.

Just outside that area, we can deliver for a freight charge based on distance, invoiced after you order. Beyond the areas we cover, we can't deliver or install, but you're welcome to collect the flat-pack from our warehouse.

After you order, we'll call to lock in your date and check access: stairs, path width and your power point.

When a unit is in stock and you're within our delivery area, we aim to deliver and install within 7 days, subject to access and our install calendar.

Popular models can sell out between shipments, so there may be a 1–2 month waitlist. Pre-orders typically take 4–6 weeks from payment to completed install, depending on shipping and your suburb.

The product page always shows whether a unit is in stock or on pre-order. We confirm your dated delivery window after you order.

Yes. Within our delivery area, our own team delivers and installs every Origin, working to a safety checklist: clearances, power point, door swing and ventilation.

If anything about the site isn't safe, we'll stop and tell you before the panels go up.

Yes. Two people with basic tools can take it down and put it back up, and we'll send you the step-by-step sequence if you'd like to do it yourself.

• To a new address: $300

Safety comes down to how a sauna is specified, wired, installed and used, so we take care of all four:

• SAA certified to Australian electrical standards
• Plugs into a standard 10-amp power point, with no three-phase power, power boards or extension leads
• Fixed 2.5 metre power cable, so the cabin sits where the power point is
• Sealed heater panels, not exposed elements
• Solid Canadian Hemlock rather than particle board, with non-toxic glue where glue is used
• Installed by our team to a safety checklist

Use it as intended (indoors, on a standard power point, with a towel on the bench) and it's a straightforward home appliance.

If you're pregnant or have a medical condition, check with your GP before using a sauna.

Almost none. There's no water, no stones, no steam and no plumbing, and the heaters are sealed panels.

• After each session, wipe the bench and backrest with a clean towel and leave the door open for 15–20 minutes so moisture can leave the timber.
• Always sit on a towel.
• Skip oils, polishes and harsh cleaners.
• Every few months, check the door seal and make sure the plug is firmly in a clean power point.

For home use:

• 5-year parts and labour warranty
• Parts available for at least 7 years
• Lifetime technician support

If something fails after the 5 years, we'll still help, and supply parts and repairs at cost price. Commercial use is covered for 2 years, parts and labour.

The warranty assumes the sauna is installed indoors as specified, on standard household power, with normal use. Misuse, water damage and unauthorised electrical work aren't covered. Keep your serial number for any claims.

This warranty is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
